The Office of Disability Services has received approval to change its name to OARS - Office of Accessibility Resources and Services.
The name change is reflective of a national trend to make
disability services more welcoming. It will remove the stigma
associated with "disability," and encourage increasing populations of
students with disabilities, such as veterans who are usually not
comfortable with using disability services on campus, to use the
services to succeed.
The office will begin the transition now and have the positive change in effect before the new academic year.
