Wireless Printing

I had previously thought that wireless printing must be some convoluted and difficult process, but recently one of our stellar interns, Lauren, used her Superlab skills to explain it very plainly and awesomely to a patron (and to me) so I wanted to pass on her knowledge with a few caveats!

CAVEATS:
Wireless printing is handled through ITS. If there are any problems or issues with it, that is not an ERIT issue. Please do not contact them about wireless printing!

Wireless printing is only available for those with a UNCG username & password, so guests won't be able to take advantage of this. Patrons MUST be logged in to the secure wireless network.

-----
  • From their laptops, patrons should visit http://uprint.uncg.edu and click the link under Web Printing for printer installation web page.
  • They will be asked to authenticate with their log-in info, and then redirected to the ITS Printer Installation page.
  • This page lists all of the computer labs with wireless printing and includes links to download the drivers necessary to print.
  • The Superlab will be the closest one. Note that not all of the labs are compatible with Mac computers.
  • As for the 32-bit or 64-bit drivers, when in doubt, they should just use the 32-bit.
