Reminder about Nursing Mother's Room (lactation room)

Hi all,

I've gotten some questions recently from UNCG visitors interested in using the Nursing Mother's Room.  Here's a reminder.

The Nursing Mother's Room is available to the general public when Jackson Library is open to the public (see library hours).

Here are some tips for moms:

  1. It's a good idea to bring your own pump plus cleaning supplies and storage/refrigeration (some moms carry cold packs and an insulated bag)
  2. Go to the Check out desk to check out the key for Jackson Tower Room 570 (you fill out a brief form, no ID is required)
  3. Please sign into the room log. You may use the room for an hour.
  4. Please return the key when you're done
There isn't a room reservation system.  If the room is in use, Ann Perdue (Access Services) or Lea Leininger will try to find other accommodations within the library if we are here.  Typically that means letting someone use our office if we can or showing the visitor to one of the private lockable bathrooms with an electrical outlet like the one next to my office (kind of an ick factor there).

Thanks for helping folks with this!
Lea
