Greensboro News & Record update

This is a longer post, so I'll give you the short version and the long version.

Short version: We do not have electronic access to the Greensboro News & Record after 2018, and we will not have it for the foreseeable future. If patrons need access they should contact the Greensboro Public Library or consider a personal subscription from greensboro.com. Failing that, perhaps an ILL request.

Long version: A few people noticed this issue recently, and so I wrote to Katherine Heilman (E-Resources Librarian) to ask if something could be done. Turns out that this paper was part of a database package we had (America's News Database) which was cut (understandably) before Katherine's arrival. She kindly asked the vendor if they could work with us to get this one title and they refused to lower their price ($15,000 for the database). No a-la-carte options are available. It'll be added to the library's collection management wish list for future consideration when and if the budget improves. I'm going to contact the Greensboro Public Library to clarify, but I believe people can access recent print copies of the paper there.
