Industry, product, and topics can vary widely: business to business (B2B) or business to consumer (B2C), although most student teams choose B2C. For B2C, note my notes about Mintel reports available.
The trade literature in Business Source Complete and ABI/INFORM can be very useful (remember you can filter results by publication type, especially useful in ABI).
HeinOnline is good for summarizing the state of legal codes (the law journals subset in that database.) Most single use plastics are not regulated at all, at either the federal, state, or local level.
Some students will need to search the environmental databases for their science/engineering topics.
Of course, please feel free to direct the students to me for consults or email questions. (Students in some sections get extra credit for talking to me, so please don't get offended if they don't end up talking to you for very long.) Thank you!
