McBride Event Details from Nakia

As we are drawing closer to the McBride event, I understand we are getting a lot of calls from the public regarding registration and other information surrounding the event, so I wanted to make sure we are all on the same page and share the below FAQ's.

Event: "An Evening with James McBride"

• Date? Thursday, May 16, 2024
• Time? 7:00 PM
• Location? EUC Auditorium (in-person/main stage)
• Parking? Free parking is available in the Walker Avenue or Oakland Parking Deck
• Accessibility Accommodations? ASL interpreters will be present at event.
  A golf cart will be present at the Walker Street Parking Deck and Oakland Parking Deck to transport those with mobility issues. Please contact Nakia Hoskins, nakia.hoskins@uncg.edu for further assistance.
• Registration? In-person registration is at capacity and therefore is closed. Confirmation emails will be received in the weeks prior to the event.
  May 1st, registration will open for the overflow space in Jarrell Hall (this will be sent via email from the University Libraries) where attendees can view the event via simulcast but will have the opportunity to get their book signed in person in the pre-function space of the Auditorium.
  Overflow registration will be open until capacity is met.
  During overflow registration, registration for online viewing will also be available.
  Those in overflow MAY have the opportunity to fill open seats in the main stage space. They will be invited in the order they registered.
  Please do not arrive without prior registration.
• Registration Cancellation? You do not have to notify us if you want to cancel your registration.
• Onsite Book Purchasing? Scuppernong Books will be available onsite for McBride book purchasing.
• Onsite Book Signing? Attendees will have the opportunity to have one (1) book signed by the author at the event. No photos allowed.
• Will the event be recorded? The event will not be recorded
