If a patron reports that a link they have for a resource isn’t working, ask them to share the link and any information they have about the resource (title, author, etc.). If their link has any reference to “libproxy.uncg.edu” in it, then it’s trying to direct to a server that no longer exists. You can first try to edit using the instructions here: https://go.uncg.edu/liblinks2025
If that doesn't work, your best option is to find the resource and share a new permalink/stable link with the patron. If you’re not able to locate one, ask for help from your supervisor or refer the patron to their liaison. Liaisons can contact erhelp for assistance. Current links should reference login.proxy180.nclive.org.
Sometimes, the issue is related to the patron using a VPN. If new links are not working and the patron mentions connecting through a VPN or through mycloud.uncg.edu, let them know that we have seen issues when people try to use these networks to connect to our resources, and that they should try turning off their VPN first.
GAs/Interns: let Nick or Liane know if you have questions.
