From Joe Williams!
Just a reminder here of what the DMC staff does and does not do!
The DMC staff does:
· Help
students, faculty, and staff with any kind of digital project. We help
with basic things like using Word and PowerPoint, and more complicated
things like editing videos or recording a podcast.
· Help patrons with scanning questions that ASD staff can’t answer.
· Help patrons take audio or video files off of camcorders and audio recorders, and turn them into a finished product.
· Help patrons use our presentation practice room to video-record themselves.
The DMC staff does not:
· Loan any kind of technology. We do not loan
anything at all in the DMC.
· Film or record things for patrons.
The DMC has equipment installed that lets patrons do the following:
· Record a presentation (in the Presentation Practice Room or our Media Editing Rooms)
· Record audio (in the Media Editing Rooms)
· Work together in groups using a computer with a large monitor (in the Consultation Rooms)
All of the DMC rooms can be scheduled through the room reservation scheduler:
· Media Editing Rooms
· Presentation Practice Room
· Group Study Room (no technology in this room)
· Consultation Rooms
Our partners in the DMC, the Digital A.C.T. Studio, help and consult
with students on creating, wording, and shaping the content in a digital
project. They make sure the media is conveying the ideas effectively.

Please let me, Armondo, or Rick know if you have any questions at all about the DMC.
