JSTOR problems Sept. 9-10
On Friday, September 9 and Saturday, September 10, JSTOR will be
performing site maintenance that requires a “read-only” period for
these two days. During this scheduled maintenance, users will be able
to search, browse, and access and download PDF files for content in
JSTOR. They will not be able to save citations, reset passwords,
create or update MyJSTOR accounts, or purchase articles.

Reading for History class
I had a student come in looking to print the article below. It's Wednesday's reading for a history class.
We tried to access it through both JSTOR and Oxford. We couldn't view it at all in Oxford. We were able to view it in JSTOR, but got the "this file is corrupt" message when trying to download the PDF. I emailed JSTOR support about it, but I guess for now they'll have to read it online. We don't have it in print (most likely because we have it through JSTOR). I'll update this blog entry when/if I hear back from JSTOR.
Lester K. Little and Barbara Rosenwein, "Social Meaning in the Monastic and Mendicant Spiritualities," Past and Present 63 (1974): 4-32.
UPDATE: Here's what JSTOR said. It worked, and I saved the PDF on the low ref desk if you need it, or follow these directions:
I recommend that you right click on the "View PDF" button and select "Open in New Window" (or "Open Link in New Window" for Firefox). Then right click on the link "Proceed to PDF" and select "Save Target As..." (or "Save Link as..." for Firefox). This will allow you to save the PDF to your computer and should allow for a faster, more successful download.
