Tax forms are here!
We now have tax forms on the display near the desk! The IRS is not distributing accompanying booklets this year, but we did get one tax guide. Since there is only one, we can keep it at the desk with the style manuals and ready reference. If patrons have more questions about anything involving taxes, please refer them to the IRS website.

Tax forms
Hi, all, some of the federal tax forms have arrive and we have put them on display on the right hand side of the Ref desk, next to the wall. Others should arrive soon, but we don't know when and we get multiple copies for only the most common forms. Extras of these forms are in the coat closet in the back office if we run low. Eventually we should get a full set that people can copy. All are available at www.irs.gov. We do not get any NC forms because the state will not send them to libraries. The website is at http://www.dornc.com/forms/ and if people want forms they can order them at http://www.dornc.com/forms/order.html - they previously had a phone number that people could call to order paper forms, but I don't see that this year. They appear to be seriously discouraging that option.

More on Tax forms
There is a new brochure on the tax forms kiosk that describes which additional forms are needed depending on which return you use: 1040, 1040A or 1040 EZ. Web links and telephone numbers for the IRS are included. There is a copy of the brochure on the clipboard at each reference desk.
