CCTV

Apparently, a couple of students have come to the library looking for CCTVs and have been told we don't have these. These machines are used to magnify texts for people with low vision or can be used to help read very small text for anyone. There is one in the Reference area - at the end of the row of Novell computers on the right side (looking from the desk, behind a pillar) and another in the Information Commons area - across from the CITI and in the corner - that is an older one, the one in Reference is newer. If anyone has questions on their use, check with Mary.

Magnifying Lens for Reader/Printers

Thanks to a gift from Andy Evens, our tech for the reader/printers, we now have a new lens that will increase the magnification for hard to read microforms. Each of the four Minolta machines have lens that magnify from 13x to 27x. The new lens magnifies from 23x to 50x. It will be stored in the office on the right side of the bookcase behind my desk.
