laptops
FYI, due to new laptop configurations and AD/GCN restrictions, the laptops that Jackson loans can now only be used within range of the campus AD/GCN network. If these laptops are taken anywhere outside of the campus AD/GCN, such as Coffeeology on Tate Street, patrons will not able to log in and use our laptops at all.
I will be placing signs at the Checkout Desk today with this information. In the coming weeks, please tell patrons as they are checking out a laptop:
"These laptops only work within range of the UNCG network, they do not work off-campus at all."
Jackson will continue to offer overnight checkout of laptops on the nights we are closed and are scheduled to reopen the next day. Many of our patrons borrow laptops overnight to use in their dorms or other spots on campus, which are all within AD/GCN coverage.

Fines, Technology Checkout
FYI, we have updated our old 'laptop checkout' web page to reflect all of the new items we lend, http://library.uncg.edu/services/technology_checkout.aspx.
We've also moved the tech-related fines information to the bottom of the fines web page, http://library.uncg.edu/borrowing/fines.aspx
