A particularly encouraging comment

from a professor! "The students (all 33 of them) came to class last Tuesday with a book (checked out on their topic), newspaper article, and journal article that they found in the UNCG library or online.
They commented on how helpful and informative the library staff were last week, and how grateful they are.
It was quite an "AHA" moment for most of them, and many thanked me for the assignment, because they'd never formally been shown/taught how to find resources in the library at UNCG. This is a real shame, considering many of these students are sophomores, juniors, and a few seniors. With everything available online and with modern technology, they're used to having everything within a touch of a button.
Learning about the library process, historical archives, and referencing others' work is priceless for today's generation of students. Thank you for all of your help. I hope the university will encourage more professors to challenge their students to use the library, or even better, have it as a freshman requirement (workshop/seminar form) for all students.
You are all doing a great service at the library, thank you!

And thanks to everyone who helped these students, Mary
