New reserves procedure for professors

FROM ACCESS SERVICES We now have an electronic submission form for reserves! It is located on the Placing Items on Reserve page,
http://library.uncg.edu/info/depts/access_services/reserves/placing_items_on_reserve.aspx. Look under Basic Information - Reserve Forms, then click the send link in the text:
New online form - send your requests to us electronically

The form is designed so that instructors can type their personal and course info in one time and send as many requests as they want for that course by clicking the submit form button. If they want to change to a different course, after submitted the last item for the present coures they can click a reset button at the end of the form to clear the personal and course info and begin again.

The form can be used to submit requests for items to be placed on print or eReserve; items can be from the Libraries' collection or personal copies; orders can be submitted as well as electronic articles uploaded and URL's sent.

The requests arrive here in email form on the reserves@uncg.edu account. The email will be from library@uncg.edu and the subject line will be "Reserve request from [name of instructor]". These emails should not be opened at the desk (except by reserve processing staff).

We are still tweaking the form. It has not been advertised yet but will be in April when information goes out about summer and fall reserve requests. If you want to try the form out, you can make up info and submit fake requests. Please make sure that you use place them in your own name so that we can identify them.

Thanks goes to Danny Nanez for creating the form; Amy, Marilyn, and Joe for ideas, design and testing.

Cathy
