New resource: Open Library

A new addition from NC Live that should soon be added to the A-Z database list. These are ebooks and they are NOT available in the online catalog, since the concept is that libraries are sharing the titles, and essentially users are doing an ILL. It's a place to check if someone needs a title that is not in the catalog. The titles are checked out for 2 weeks, and for some, there's even an audio component where the titles are read by a computer generated voice (not much fun to listen to). Right now, it's a relatively limited number of titles, but I would expect it to grow. You do have to create an account using your email address, but that's very easy. Books are available in different formats, varying somewhat by title, and some can be downloaded to Kindle. Go to: http://openlibrary.org/
