Want title begins with... searching in the catalog? Try WorldCat Discovery!

OCLC is developing a new version of our library catalog called WorldCat Discovery.

It will probably be in beta through March 2015. Our library will likely migrate to WorldCat Discovery (WCD) in summer 2015.

It already has our library holdings!  If you'd like to give it a try, use this link: https://uncg.on.worldcat.org

Please don't share this link with patrons or others who don't work in our library. The system is still rough in some areas and lacks UNCG customization.

Feel free to explore these exciting features for yourself:

• There's a title begins with search that sometimes works.  The command is ti=  
• The command for call number searching sometimes works, too.  In WCD the command is nu=  and you can still truncate it by putting the * in the middle of the call number. I still haven't heard any good news about call number browsing.
• Availability and call number show up in the list of results 
• The publication year limits are AWESOME - your choice of last five years, custom range, etc.
• You can save results to a temporary list without logging into an account
• Now works with Zotero (as does WorldCat Local)
