Creative Arts Network drop off box at Ref Desk
Soon there will be a 1' x 1' box placed at the reference desk for a group of students to submit responses to particular pieces of creative work. If you see someone place this box on the desk, do not be alarmed! If the person dropping off the box needs to speak with me, please send them back to the ref office. See the description below for more details:
I am reaching out on behalf of the UNCG Creative Arts Network, in association with the MFA program in visual art. As the graduate student secretary, I am organizing our first interdisciplinary program, the Messenger Project. Eligible participants include MFA students, visual, written, and performing arts capstone undergraduates, and arts faculty. Each participant has one week to make a creative work in response to another participant's submission. The "message" is then dropped off at a specified location, and the cycle repeats. The creative work can be a piece of writing, visual art, a recording of music, or a video of dance/theater, etc. At the end of the exchange, an exhibition will be held.

In order to make this project a reality, we need a central drop off box. Would it be possible to have a small drop box (1' x 1' at most) at an accessible and visible spot at the Jackson Library? We will provide the box. The project runs through the end of April, so we would need the box to be there for the academic year.
...there has been an update. The box has just now been received by the reference desk and been placed under the the lower desk near the staplers. The weekly schedule will be as follows:
Saturday: participant drops off artwork
Sunday: box is checked by Creative Arts Grad Student
Monday: new participant picks up artwork
Please direct participants to the box when they arrive and let me know if you have any questions.
