Since December, we've been getting increased reports of issues with off-campus database access, particularly using Chrome. If you have a frustrated patron in person, by phone, or on chat having trouble accessing databases from off campus, please first ask if they have tried a different web browser. You can let them know that we are having some issues with Chrome and are working on developing some solutions.
If the patron is willing to provide contact information to you, please send that information to our E-resources help email address: erhelp@uncg.edu. That will give Kate the opportunity to get in touch with the patron directly if she needs to follow up. Brown, Kate, and I (mostly them, a little bit me) have been working with patrons on this issue and Brown is developing some documentation about potential fixes that I will pass on to all reference deskers when completed.
