from Mary - we do occasionally help people with scanners and there are plans to move one to the Reading Room so we may be doing more - the message below is from Cathy Griffith:
As many of you have reported, patrons are reporting issues scanning to the Google Drive on the MDS scanners. I have had conversations with Stephen at MDS and Franklin, and we have decided to remove Drive as a choice from the menu on these scanners. Stephen will be making the changes remotely over the next few days on the public and staff scanners.
According to Stephen, Google changed some of the protocols that work with the Drive on the scanners which is what has caused Drive to malfunction as of late. Additionally, Franklin reports that the campus is planning to implement a 2 factor authentication process that will not work with Drive on the scanners so any fix that Stephen may be able to deploy will not work in the near future anyway.
