Display cases

This was sent out via email but I'm repeating, please keep on the blog for permanent reference:  display case information is located on Desk Manual's Policies/Procedure/Protocol tab and has a link to the actual display case reservation page and the Google calendar of current reservations.  However, just to be sure we're all aware of the details of the procedure, we all should take the time to review the following steps, which will help us avoid any further difficulties:

-When an individual makes a request for a display case, the requests are sent to Nick and Liane who either confirm or deny the reservation.  The reservation, if confirmed, is then added to the Google Calendar on the display case page.
-When the individual comes to set up their display, check the calendar on the display case page to confirm that the organization is who they say they are and that they are setting up on the correct day.
-Retrieve the key for the correct case from the back of the supply closet door in the ref office.
-DO NOT give the person the key.  Walk with them to their case and unlock the case for them.  When they are finished, lock the case back and return the key to the door.
-If a display ever needs to be dismantled, please put items safely in the reference office and let Nick or Liane know where the items are located.  DO NOT have Access Services check library books in until clearing with Nick or Liane.

This procedure, by default, is typically performed by Nick or Liane, since they are on the receiving end of the reservations.
