Moving to WorldCat Discovery around Weds June 6

Hi all,

I just realized that not everyone at the desk has gotten the various emails about WorldCat Local and WorldCat Discovery. 

Here's a summary. If you have questions, please ask your representative to the ILS committee (me!).  If I don't know it, I'll check w/Terry.

On or around Weds June 6th our libraries will be moving from WorldCat Local to WorldCat Discovery (WCD)

• WCD is the next version of the catalog and discovery system from OCLC
• it searches the same stuff that WCL searches, it just looks a little different and has different links
• there's more info about WCD here: http://uncg.libguides.com/wcd

After the move

• the red search box will point to WorldCat Discovery
• permalinks in WorldCat Local will start pointing to WorldCat Discovery 
• print/physical reserve lists will be in WorldCat Discovery
• it might be hard to get to lists of saved items in WorldCat Local, because your browser will try to make you go to WorldCat Discovery instead  - go to www.worldcat.org and log in with your WorldCat account to view your saved lists
