***update *** Amy sent an email yesterday saying that ILL is available again. Yay ILL!
Hi all,
I just got a chat from someone asking about an error message that they got when they tried to log into ILLIAD to place an Interlibrary Loan request.
I called the ILL office, they confirmed that ILLIAD is still down, library IT is working with ITS, no estimate for when ILL service will be available again.
If the patron is able to go to other institutions, you can check WorldCat Discovery to see which other libraries claim to have what they need:
Under Availability, "Libraries Worldwide" shows other libraries that claim to have the item (see example record) - libraries are listed by distance from UNCG, but you can search another location
Remember to go directly to the other library's website to make sure that they have the item (sometimes holdings info is out of date) and to get contact info for that library so the patron can check about visiting hours, parking, using library resources, etc.
Remember that cooperative borrowing lets patrons with a UNCG ID card check out books from TALA and UNC system libraries (when the patron visits that library, usually starting at the checkout desk), and most libraries have some sort of guest access for many other materials.
Thanks,
Lea
