ART 344: Color Copy Time

This month, students from ART 344: Digital Darkroom (their professor is Kelley O'Brien) will be making color photocopies in the ROI office under very specific circumstances. However, as with any assignment, they may not pay close attention to the directions and just remember the part about making color photocopies in the library, leading to questions at the reference desk or over chat. If you get questions related to making color copies for ART 344, please tell them to check their Canvas messages for a message from Maggie about the dates/times of when they can come make copies, or to email me at mmurphy@uncg.edu with questions. For other questions related to their ART 344 research assignment (in which they need to find imagery from books related to an essay they are writing, so that they can design a zine that folds out into a full-page poster), please handle them as you would any reference question. These questions will likely be related to finding different kinds of books, as they will need to find 13+ images from books in order to create a collage.

Here are the relevant details for your reference:

Students can come make color copies, accompanied by me, during the dates/times below provided that they give me half an hour's notice via email that they are coming.

  • Tuesday, Sept. 7 (today!): 3 pm to 8:45 pm
  • Thursday, Sept. 9: 3 pm to 8:45 pm
  • Monday, Sept. 13: 3 pm to 8:45 pm
  • Wednesday, Sept. 15: 3 pm to 8:45 pm
  • Thursday, Sept. 16: 3 pm to 6 pm

  • They can also book a half hour appointment with me for research help, or to use the color photocopier outside of the above hours, any time there is an open slot on my appointment scheduler at go.uncg.edu/maggie

Only one student will be allowed with me in the ROI office at a time, and all masking protocols will be followed. We will disinfect the copier when we are done using it.

Thanks again to Amy for allowing Kelley and I to pilot this project this semester! Beginning October 1, there will be a display in the portico lobby and reference area of the students' zines and the sources of their inspiration from the stacks and SCUA, so be sure to check them out!
