Hi all,
The info provider CAS announced that on July 1, chemistry database SciFinder-n will fully replace SciFinder "classic"
This is an interface change that will mostly affect only chemistry and biochemistry.
Patrons will still be able to use the library link into SciFinder, then their iSpartan account + their CAS SciFinder account to log into the database. The library link will still give current UNCG students and employees a chance to create a CAS account if they don't already have one.
The Chemistry Subject Guide has an announcement which I've emailed to summer chem instructors 200 level and above (including the dept head) and post docs working in Kannapolis who have contacted me for help accessing this database in the past few months.
Library links to this database still say SciFinder Scholar. Once the name is changed in the A to Z databases list, the new name should roll out across libguides.
I'll be leaving the office the afternoon of Friday July 1, but erhelp@uncg.edu is helpful for questions about getting into the database and CAS customer support is helpful for questions about using the database.
Thanks,
Lea (interim liaison to Chemistry & Biochemistry)
