NC Live "Account Suspended" Message?

It is uncommon, but if a patron reports that they cannot access a library resource provided through NC LIVE and are instead receiving an NC LIVE message stating that their account has been suspended, then they have most likely hit their proxy usage limit. This is related to an NC LIVE proxy setting they use to prevent the abuse of their proxy access, but if a patron is heavily using the proxy to access resources in a short period of time, exceeding 2gb in an hour, then it is possible for them to trigger this temporary suspension. It's a user level issue, and ultimately controlled by NC LIVE, so you won't be able to recreate the error message and can only help in two actionable ways:

(1) Report the user's UNCG email address to Marcie (or ERhelp), who can request removal of the suspension with NC LIVE.

(2) If the resource is downloadable, then you can offer to confirm they're a valid UNCG affiliate with access to the resource and send them a copy of the resource via their UNCG email as a workaround.

*UPDATE - Marcie had the limit increased to 4gb, so hopefully that alleviates some of the download limits, but please follow these instructions if there's still issues.  -NM 3/14/25
