ILL Changes

FROM JOE Williams: This summer, we will be making two changes related to I.L.L. First, the Checkout Desk will become the only location for I.L.L. pick-ups and returns during all hours of library operation. Patrons will only pick up and return their I.L.L. materials at the Checkout Desk, even during our M-F / 8-5 hours. We will identify and label some of our shelving behind the desk for I.L.L. materials. We will provide training for Desk staff on how to help patrons log into their ILLiad account and view the status of their requests. NOTE FROM MARY - we should be prepared to do this too at Ref.

The second change coming this summer is that we will enable online I.L.L. renewal for patrons. If patrons have questions about their I.L.L. materials that Desk staff cannot answer, we will refer the patrons back to the I.L.L. office for assistance. Gaylor, Pat, and Susan will still be very happy and ready to help with all I.L.L. patron questions.

I hope that both of these changes can be made at the beginning of Summer Session I, which starts in four weeks. There will be more information, staff training, and advertising between now and then.
