The "Renew Items" account is going to be renamed "My Library Account."
Also, Terry is creating a very small page that has brief info about this account. He will be able to add a link to this page in the top right corner of WorldCat, an extra link just before WorldCat Sign In. But the link text isn't customizable.
These changes will probably be made this week, maybe
tomorrow or Weds. Anything that shows the links from the upper right
corner of WorldCat will have outdated images (but not necessarily
critical).
The next change to expect will be that Terry will activate
the Holds button. Soon but I don't know when. Once it becomes visible,
Cathy G will want some time to get Access Services up to speed. Patrons
will already be seeing the button again inside of books that are checked
out, items in Preservation or in Storage. When patrons click on the
button, they'll be taken to the Renew items/My library sign in page
(with no intermediate page).
So there should be a Behind the Stacks post soon to let library staff know that a) holds button will be activated and b) questions might come from patrons who have clicked on "place hold" and don't know that they need to make up a password to place holds and renew books.
