A note for interns...

This information has been added to the Desk Manual libguide.

As we transition to the new MPS (managed print services) we will be changing the protocol for reporting issues with printers in the library. Once the transition is complete, we will no longer be reporting these issues to ERIT, but we will report them to 6-TECH.

If the MPS printer in the Reference Area runs out of toner, replace it with the spare in the supply closet, put a note on the spent cartridge and leave it in the closet for recycling, and email (do not call) 6-TECH (hdemail@uncg.edu) for a replacement. If any other issues with this printer arise, email 6-TECH as well. The email should include the model number of the printer, which is written on a square sticker in the upper right hand corner of the machine, and a description of the issue. When emailing, be sure to cc: these members of the Desk Team:

Susan Farr (sdgerrit@uncg.edu)
Liane Elias (leelias@uncg.edu)
Mary Krauter (mmkrautt@uncg.edu)
Nick McCollister (n_mccoll@uncg.edu)
Mark Schumacher (m_schuma@uncg.edu)

For now, if issues arise with the Reading Room printer, report them to ERIT (erit@uncg.edu) and cc: the Desk Team. If the Reading Room printer runs out of toner, check with Access Services for a replacement and give them back the old one for recycling.

When reporting printing or computing issues, always be sure to fill out an Out of Order sign (in the drawer at the low desk) with the time that ERIT or 6-TECH was contacted and leave it on the machine.
