(New) New Printers Are Here

The replacement printers are here for the Reading Room and Reference.  Also, color printing is now available in both the DMC and at the printer next to CITI.  See below:

Systel brought the replacement printers for the tower lobby and reference reading room this morning.  These new printers are now online and functioning from all of the public workstations in Jackson Library. 

Also, while Systel was here the Color HP 551 that was in the tower lobby was move to the DMC.

After talking with Armondo it was agreed that we would enable color printing on the printer in the DMC.   This means that patrons may now release color print jobs at the printer by the CITI lab door and at the printer in the DMC.

​The color printing option has now been enabled on the majority of public workstations in Jackson.  On PCs that have the color option enabled you will see two printers; Jackson Black and White and Jackson Color.  The Jackson Black and White printers is the default printer.  To print in color the patron must select Jackson Color from the list of available printers when they print. 

As a reminder we're now charging the following for printing:

$0.04 per page single sided black and white

$0.06​ per page double sided black and white

$0.20 per page single sided color

$0.38 per page double sided color

These charges match what the ITS labs are currently charging for printing. 

Note: black and white and double sided are the default printing configuration for public PCs."

As a reminder:  if we use our department printing card, we will charge .50 for all color copies - and .10 for black and white.
