Replacing Toner

Hi all,

Just a reminder--when the toner for the printer begins its decent into death, you can always try removing it (by lifting the front lid of the printer and pulling it out by its handle) and shaking a few times.  But if that proves unsuccessful, the next steps are to inform Liane or myself...

However, if Liane or I are not in the office, the next step needs to be to email 6-TECH (hdemail@uncg.edu) that we need new replacement toner and cc part of desk team, which includes Liane, Nick, Mark, and  Suan--that way we know not to order more toner.

In the email, you should also include:  the location of the printer (Reference) and the Systel identifier number (EA-028, located on the Systel sticker on top of the printer).

Then replace the toner with the new toner, located on shelf 18 in the supply closet and place the old toner in the box and place in front of my desk.

I know this seems like a lot to remember, but you will only have to email 6-TECH if Liane or I am not present.  This information is also located in Liane's reference desk libguide under "Who You Gonna Call?"  Many thanks!
