As most of you may know, we offer support for the free citation management software, Zotero. Many of our librarians offer help with Zotero, so be sure to find out who their library liaison is first to get them the help they need. There is a libguide with more information about it, located on the Research Help page.
If you didn't know, we do offer some support for Endnote as well, though we have been phasing it out over the last few years. The help for Endnote is very limited and from now on, our business librarian, Steve Cramer, will be the go-to support person in the library. If you encounter a patron needing help with Endnote, consider the following steps:
-Suggest switching to Zotero--it's free and well-supported in the library
-If they're determined to use Endnote, share the libguide with them and explain that we offer limited support, and they're welcome to contact Steve, who's info is on the guide
-Steve cannot offer in-depth support, so if the interaction goes further than that, they can reach out to Clarivate, Endnote's company site.
-If you're willing, other in-depth referrals can include:
- Referring patrons to videos from Clarivate as needed (for instance if a group wants instruction)
- Referring patrons to 6-TECH for assistance if needed getting to the software in MyCloud or in campus labs
- Referring patrons to Clarivate tech support if tech issues come up in using the software
