WorldCat Discovery had a change today and another change is expected on May 16.
On May 16, expect some errors/glitches when searching WorldCat Discovery - sometimes that happens when the system is updated.
1. There's now a "browse shelf" feature in WorldCat Discovery!
You can see an example in detailed records like this if you click on Browse the Shelf
Here's the description from OCLC: When enabled, a “Browse the
Shelf” accordion will display on detailed views of records for physical
items that your library holds. Shelf Browse will then display the title,
author, format, publication year and LHR provided Call Number.
2. Starting on May 16, suggestions for database searches will start to appear above results.
Here's an example from OCLC. Their version of WorldCat Discovery looks a little different than ours but it will give you an idea of what to expect -
Clicking on a recommended database will connect a user to the database’s native interface
to continue their research. For EBSCO databases, following this link will also automatically re-run the user’s search terms in the EBSCO interface.
